GL, Workers Comp • Event • Professional Liability
General Liability
Minimum recommended: $1 million per occurrence / $2 million aggregate. Many venues and contracts require $2M/$5M during Super Bowl week. Additional insured endorsement: required for most venue contracts. Certificate of Insurance (COI): have current COIs ready for every event. Umbrella policy: consider $5-10M for high-exposure businesses.
Workers Compensation
Tennessee requires workers comp for employers with 5+ employees (TCA § 50-6-102). Coverage through: private insurance carriers, TN workers comp pool, or qualified self-insurance. Seasonal/temporary workers: covered from day one. Independent contractors: generally not covered (but misclassification risk is high — consult legal counsel).
Event Insurance
Special event insurance for game week activations: single-event policies available ($500-$5,000 depending on size). Coverage includes: general liability, participant liability, weather cancellation. Liquor liability endorsement required for alcohol-serving events. Event cancellation insurance: consider for events with significant upfront costs.
Professional Liability
Errors & omissions (E&O) coverage for professional services firms. Recommended minimum: $1 million. Essential for: marketing agencies, consultants, technology providers, financial advisors. Cyber liability insurance: recommended for all businesses handling customer data.
